Rainstorm froze, let this kit shadow her? What was Goldstar thinking, Rainstorm was-had been one of the best warriors of the clan, she had been deputy. She had never been mentor for a reason, partly she had been to caught up in her duties. She looked at the kit-Rainstorm had never had a litter and had never felt inclined to. She was a warrior. Of course if her injuries had been more severe perhaps she would have eventually had a litter but even with the damage that would likely never fully heal she was still fit as a warrior, just not the warrior she had been. She remembered herself and moved over towards Goldstar, surveying the kit. The kit was strong, reminding Rainstorm of herself as a kit.
The silver and white tabby warrior said nothing for a few moments. She was thinking of the scar along her stomach that she had carried for many moons and the slowly growing back sleek fur that was almost as sleek and lovely as it had been before she had be injured gravely. Moonfrost and Winterstrike her mother and father had both died when Rainstorm was perhaps that young. Her two brothers had been born unbreathing and she had been the only kit to survive. Could she take on that responsibility of taking charge of a kit whom was the future of the clan?
She looked at the kit and said. "I also was orphaned young." Stormkit was perhaps what she needed. How sly of Goldstar, making Rainstorm occupied to stop her from being so depressed at her lack of action. Already Rainstorm felt excitement rise, what fun and interesting times she could have. "Of course Goldstar." then turning once more to the kit with a habit of turning up where she ought not to be. "I expect obedience however, I've never taken a student on for a reason. I'm too demanding." Of course that was a little misleading, it was more that Rainstorm's duties had been too demanding and of course she had been unable to carry out even the simplest of duties as she healed.
