"I promise I will be careful. Just, take care of yourself." Blue-grey eyes etched the image of the she-cat into his mind. His black and white pelt was pressed against his body as a powerful gust blew through the Moorland. He looked at her, the pain in her eyes stabbing deep into him. "I just wish you wouldn't go." She whimpered. Always full of happiness, it was hard to see the black apprentice look so sad. And it was his fault.
A sigh escaped the parted jaws of the she-cat. The scent of herbs drifted towards her. Following quickly, the black she-cat tried to think of some excuse to get her brother to return to WindClan. She hated the thought of him out on his own, with no one to help him should he get hurt.
"Chervil...." She mumbled to herself. A brisk wind caught the she-cat off guard. Looking towards HighStones, Nightsong began to get an eerie feeling. Like she needed to speak to StarClan. Dusk was closing in, and so the first stars of Silverpelt were beginning to show. What do you want? What are you trying to tell me? A sound in the bushes startled the black she-cat out of her thoughts. Claws unsheathed, and fangs barred, she prepared for whatever was going to emerge.

Charredstar leapt out of the bush and pinned the medicine cat down with ease, claws sheathed. He quickly leapt off as Nightsong jumped to her feet. "Good alertness, I saw you tense, but you weren't prepared for the enemy to rush you, though for a medicine cat, I'll give you credit." He meowed without expression. He rustled in the gorse, disturbed by his leap, and pulled out a huge rabbit with his jaws. He dropped it at her feet, and nodded at it. "Go on," he continued, "The fresh kill pile is stuffed." he finished in the same emotionless tone. The large grey tom went over, the the outlook rock, and raced up the side, collapsing onto his side as he reached the top with a heavy sigh. As he looked out across his territory, a small glimmer of brightness crept into his eyes, but he noticed the other cat still watching him, and his gaze hardened instantly. "It's all quiet," He growled matter-of-factly, to nobody in particular. "I'm going back to camp, stay alert" he shot over his shoulder as he bounded away.

Wind began to tug at the she-cat. She listened carefully to her leader. Of course she wasn't prepared. She was a Medicine Cat, built for healing, not fighting. Chuckling inwardly, she watched as he hopped onto the rock. She looked down at the rabbit he had offered, and not long after heard her tummy begin to growl. She couldn't remember the last time she had eaten, preparing for anything and everything. When she was finished, she looked up to see her leader gone. Looking around, she spotted him bounding off. Sighing, she buried the remains of her meal and darted after him. Catching up to him, she slowed, matching his pace. "What is bothering you, Charredstar?" She meowed, her tone soft like a queen's. Dusk was falling on them, so it was good that they were heading in the direction of camp. It would be dark soon, and she would need as much sleep as she could get to go gather more herbs in the morning.
