Medicine Cat Meeting [sept 09]

A orange and white feline appeared out over the brush; walking along the terrtory, half way to Highstones. He was at the edge of Shadowclan territory, by the small thunderpath, blocking the way to highstones.
Ashstorm had told him to go on ahead, so he did. He was told to wait here for Shadowclan medicine cats; unless he scented they already came along this path.

Shadowclan are lucky, Windclan too, their so near to Highstones.... The medicine cat apprentice, who went by the name Blazepaw thought as he waited. It was a cool night, and all that could be heard was the soft sounds of prey running about in the distance.

[Blackie™ ` VAMPIRE]

A half moon rose in the sky, eluminating the moorland around the black she-cat. She was nearly invisible in the dark, creeping around, preparing for the Medicine cat meeting tonight. Wind began to tug a her, the scents of Leaf-fall approaching. Sitting down on a smooth rock, she waited for RiverClan's Medicine Cat. She would also meet ShadowClan and ThunderClan's Medicine Cat here, and then they would travel to Highstones to speak with StarClan.
Nightsong sighed. She had heard rumors that Ashstorm, ThunderClan's Medicine Cat, had already chosen an apprentice. Will i ever get an apprentice? I think I need more practice. I hope I will be ready when the time comes... She thought to herself, imagining what it would be like to have an apprentice of her own.

"Damn! I'm late!"
The black and white medicine cat jolted upright in her sleep. She'd just meant to take a quick nap... but she'd fallen asleep for far too long. Tonight was the medicine cat meeting at Highstones, and she was late! It made ShadowClan look weak. She was sure her leader wold be angry with her. "That would be one of many things where it would be nice to have an apprentice. If not to wake me up, then at least to blame for me being late." Echoheart smiled to herself. She looked up at the moon- she stil had a little bit of time. Her paws raced out of camp.

Highstones never failed to amaze Echoheart- it was the biggest thing she'd ever seen! But tonight she didn't have time to marvel at the giant stones. Her paws ached from running so fast and she was heavily panting. Bit she hadn't been too late to the meeting. So far she could only see two other cats waiting on her. Sorry I'm late!" she meowed breathlessly to the two cats. She didn't feel like adding that she'd overslept like a lazy furball.

~ Being nervous isn't bad is it? ~

Featherpaw padded next to her mentor silently. This was her first medicine cat meeting and it was the night she was to be presented to Starclan. She'd be lying to say she wasn't nervous. She'd be lying if she said she was only a little nervous. Truth was she was so nervous she was shaking were she stood.

~ Rejected ~

Featherpaw looked nervously over at her mentor Nightsong. She looked so calm and perfect. How could she be so calm when her apprentice was about to be rejected from Starclan?

~ Breath ~

Featherpaw took two deep relaxing breaths. Her heart was pounding like a hummingbirds wings and she seemed to hear nothing but the swooshing sound of wind.

'Please accept me!' She prayed to Starclan.

~ Please! ~

Blazepaw watched as other cats appeared. He scented Windclan first, and then a wiff of Shadowclan. He blinked when Nightsong appeared with a cat he did not know. He presumed that this was Nightsong's apprentice! He watched as mentor and apprentice silently crept up. He nodded to both of them, smiling smally.

Echoheart followed toot-sweet, he looked at the Shadowclan medicine cat and blinked at her. He felt alittle akward, since his mentor hadn't gotten here yet....
Hurry up Meadowdust! He thought as his tail twitched back and fourth timidly.
He took the time to look at Windclan's new medicine cat apprentice. She sure did look nervous. This brought a slighlty amused smile to Blazepaw's face as he remembered his first time going to Highstones.
Now that he was eleven moons old,he was basically used to the long trip, and Starclan. What was this? His third time up here? Yes, that was right, Starclan had already accepted him, amazingly. He really didn't have that strong a belief in Starclan, but Starclan came to him anyway, in his dreams, and sometimes during the day! It was like he was half and half in his belief, but Starclan told him that they believe he did actually believe in them..but he'd always reply the same.
'Not possible. You all are a figment of my imagination..but I do like the idea though.'

Coming back to the scene, Blazepaw blinked his hazel eyes at Featherpaw and decided to say something. "Hi, I'm Blazepaw." He started kindly. "You must be Nightsong's new apprentice." He meowed with a nod, shifting his weight as a soft cool breeze came by.

OOC: umkay, so my first post had Ashstorm, but since TC med cat was changed, it is now Meadowdust. :3 all medicine cats should have apprentices now. They just need to get their tails on here and post. xD we gotta get this horse movin!

A chill running down the Medicine cat's spine as a cooling breeze flattened her pelt. She nodded to the young ThunderClan Apprentice, and then to Echoheart. Now We wait for RiverClan and Meadowdust... Sighing, the she-cat curled her paws beneath her, wrapping her tail tightly across her chest. Turning to Echoheart, the she-cat tried to begin a conversation.
"How is ShadowClan doing, Echoheart?" She began, trying to be as casual as she could. She was a bit nervous, wondering how Featherpaw's journey would end for her. Surely StarClan wants Featherpaw as my aprentice. Just by looking at the she-cat, she could tell she was shaking, her whiskers quivering.

"How is ShadowClan doing, Echoheart?" the black she-cat blinked at Echoheart expectantly as she hesitated. The ShadowClan medicine cat had been daydreaming...well night dreaming rather. She shook her head and turned to the black cat, "Very well. How's the prey running in WindClan?" she tried her best to look warm and friendly, but she knew her amber eyes were coming off as cold and impersonal. It wasn't her fault, she wanted to be social... but she never quite knew what to say around unfamiliar cats.

Echoheart looked around, watching the other cats file in. Only two more...I think there were so many cats she lost count easily. She wondered if her apprentice would show up soon...or of they were here yet. What a good mentor she made. Ha-ha.

[Foxpaw]

Foxpaw saw her mentor and padded over. She sat near Echoheart and smiled at her. The young she-cat liked her mentor and knew that she had gotten her wish of being a medicine cat apprentice. The fox-like apprentice waited to be released to meet the other apprentices and make friends. Foxpaw was excited to be at her first medicine cat meeting. She blinked her golden eyes and stared into the gathering darkness. Soon the meeting would start and Foxpaw would get to meet her warrior ancestors. Would they like her and accept her as part of their medicine cat history or what would happen?

Foxpaw flicked her black tipped tail and took a deep breath. She definitely scented different Clans, but she still couldn't tell the difference between ThunderClan, RiverClan, or WindClan. Claws slid out of her paws in cause of anxiety. Her golden eyes were bright with emotion. She saw some potential future friends and she wanted to meet them. "Echoheart can I meet the other apprentices? I won't stray too far." The young apprentice couldn't believe that she was actually a medicine cat apprentice. Again she looked around at the other cats and sensed that each medicine cat had an apprentice. For now Foxpaw would get to know the other cats better and learn from them as well as her mentor.

Foxpaw remembered when she had helped a tomkit get well after he had gotten sick one leafbare. None of the cats thought he wouldn't make it because the herbs needed had run out and there was none to be found. Foxpaw had her own stash of herbs hidden and when she heard that the tomkit needed the herbs she got them and gave them to the tom. The tom had been grateful and when the Clan learned of her cunning they not only punished her for doing something stupid like that, but rewarded her by being a medicine cat apprentice. Foxpaw liked it where she was and she wanted to stay for a good long while

I'm late, I'm late so very, very late, thought Autumnpaw as she scurried along the ground toward the meeting area. She had gotten caught up talking to the deputy and it had slipped her mind that she had to get to the MC meeting. She had nearly forgotten that she was a medicine cat. Her chubby body was weaving through the areas swiftly. She didn't know anyone so she was just hoping she got there.

She burst into the clearing and stumbled against an orange and white tom.

"Oh my starclan, sorry," she muttered as she backed away. Her eyes were wide with horror as she realized that she may have run into a legitimate medicine cat. She barely even knew her own mentor much less the medicine cats of the other clans.

"Umm, my name is Autumnpaw and I'm from Riverclan," she said inclining her head to the other cat and glancing around herself.

((OCC: she ran into Blazepaw BTW))

Blazepaw listened as the older medicine cats talked and watched as another apprentice he did not know appear. He blinked and watched the fox-like looking she-cat as she talked to Echoheart. He blinked and noted that this was Shadowclan medicine apprentice.

Now, all that's left is River- The tom began to wonder but then got distracted as a rush of white and multi-colored fur flashed past him, on the way, making him stumble over awkwardly.

He let out a small mew of surprise and looked over at the feline, catching what she said after her appology.

'Umm, my name is Autumnpaw and I'm from Riverclan'

Blazepaw stood up once more and shook his fur.
Well then, that was good timing. He thought as he smiled demurily at her.
"That's okay." He replied shortly, tail flicking as if it were no big deal.
He paused and then added quickly. "I'm Blazepaw, Thunderclan medicince cat apprentice." His hazel eyes switched from Autumnpaw to Foxpaw, and then to Featherpaw. He could tell that these were all newly made apprentices, which made him the oldest apprentice there. Atleast only one was nervous, or well, alot nervous, and the other two seemed okay.
Then a small detail came to the young tabby's mind.
Their all....she-cats.
His face didn't show it, but he was feeling very much awkward right now. Not that he was...nervous around she-cats! Pfh no! He just felt well...more like, intimidated. He was the only tom there for Starclan's sake!
He was hoping that maybe he would meet a male medicine cat, not just she-cats! How was he supposed to talk to them?

Not that he was a nervous cat infront of a bunch of she-cats...Heck no! Blazepaw sat down once more, and drew his tail close to his side, studying a rather nice looking leaf between his paws, anything to past the time.

Hurry up Meadowdust! He thought desperately, he much wanted this meeting to start and finish before his nerves get to him!

She noticed how cool and collected the other apprentices were and breathed a sigh of relief when she realized the tom was an apprentice. She looked around. Where was Angelicmelody? She hadn't been around camp for a while and Autumnpaw had no idea where she was.

"Have you seen Angelicmelody?" she asked the group in general. Her mentor had to be around here somewhere. She smiled when she saw Blazepaw become distraught as he realized all of the medicine cats were she-cats.

"So, how long have you been an apprentice?" she asked each of the apprentices in turn, hoping that none of them were a lot more experienced than her. She liked the looks of the others, they seemed nice and they probably where. Autumnpaw had already noted that all of the she-cats, save Blazepaw, were girls.

The wind rustled around Echoheart's fur, gently caressing it. She closed he eyes for a moment, remembering all the times she'd sat on Sunning Rocks in ThunderClan and enjoyed the same type of breeze. She almost missed it there...but ShadowClan was more of a home to her than anywhere else in the world. Suddenly Foxpaw came running up, along with a few others who were a little late. "Echoheart can I meet the other apprentices? I won't stray too far." the new apprentice's eyes were glittering with excitement. Echoheart remembered that feeling, she'd always loved being a medicine cat. From her first day training with Jaggedleaf she'd loved it. "Sure Fowpaw. Just be ready to go when the others get here." the medicine cat smiled at her apprentice warmly and went to sit with the other medicine cats, "Who else are we waiting on?" she asked, somewhat shyly.

Angelicmelody paused lightly up the slope, thoughts pulsating in her head about being late. She darted down, her paws screaming in exhaustion. Her mind screeched warnings about Starch's wrath, but she pushed them away. As darting paw laced up, she bounded up the rocky slope to Highstones. Panting, she managed to make in with fury from tiredness buzzing in her mind. Her paws, weary with pain she saw the other Medicine Cats on the slope. "I am so sorry I am late." she said with a blaze of anger.

[okay, we REALLY need to move this along, the only med cat not here is Meadowdust, well actually the medicine cat of TC, since the person rping Meadowdust hasn't posted AT ALL, and the TC med cat is currently being auditioned for, I will rp Meadowdust for now. but please, let's move this along peps! =3 ]

Blazepaw sat still, as he watched the others calmly. He wondered desperately where Meadowdust was..
Hurry Meadowdust... He prayed, his eyes showing his impatince for his mentor.
He looked at Autumnpaw and was about to answer when Angelicmelody came bursting in.
Wow, all the medicine cats are late tonight.. Blazepaw thought with a silent sigh. All that was left was his mentor.

He looked at the Riverclan medicine cat and gave her a smile of greeting. He looked back at Autumnpaw and meowed, "I've been in training for about seven moons now." He nodded his head and his tail twitched.

Just then, a cat ran into the middle of the group of medicine cats. "Sorry I'm late." Meadowdust, medicine cat of Thunderclan, breathed, obviously out of breath from the run. "Shall we go?" She inquired, her face burning in embarassment from being the last one there. She went over and stood by her apprentice Blazepaw and flicked his ear with her tail. "Sorry." She mouthed to her, giving him an appoligetic smile. She noticed that Blazepaw was the only tom in the group.
oh dear, well I guess he thinks he's special. She thought, almost laughing out loud at her thought. She looked at the other medicine cats and nodded in greeting to them all before turning toward the thunderpath. That was the only thing blocking them and Highstones.
I hope Starclan forgives us all for out lateness tonight. The she-cat prayed, glancing up at the moon, the clouds covering the half-cresant slightly.
Yup, their angry. She sighed, but knew they would let them speak with them tonight. She was abit worried of how Blazepaw was doing, this was his second time after all...
He better tell me what he dreams of tonight.. She thought, glancing at Blazepaw momently.


Blazepaw let out a sigh of relief as his mentor arrived.
What was she doing? The tom wondered, ears twitching as he smiled smally at Meadowdust.

Her eyes widened, it was time already! She crept closer to Angelicmelody. She didn't have any idea what she was doing. She watched as the other cats began to slink toward the cave and she stuck close to Angelicmelody's side.

"So I'm going to have a dream?" she asked as she walked closer. She hoped that she would figure out what she was doing before she made a fool of herself. Her entire body was trembling with anticipation as the chubby calico cat crept closer to medicine cat enlightenment.
