OOC: Just to make it clear, from the title, this thread is to post with someone who can at least post 500 words. Seriously, I just love reading long posts, and making long posts. So if you can't make 500 words, simple; don't post. It's not that hard, truly. Hopefully this goes alright.
IC: Bright sun rays sparkled down on the forest floor, casting a beautiful golden aura over the trees. A light breeze rustled the branches overhead, scattering minuscule droplets of precipitation upon her muzzle. Shaking her head, tufts of black fur grew darker and curled away from the rain to try and avoid getting wet. Tail flicked silently from a shaft a light as the femme stepped out of the cover of trees, pausing to feel the warmth of the sun against her night-strewn pelt. Drawing in a deep breathe, she felt the oxygen whirl down her throat, into her lungs; felt a calming sensation spread through her body. A heavy breath after another, she regained her composure. The quick run hadn't been enough to completely tire her, but left her winded. As she crouched in the shadows, she raised her muzzle to the heavens, blue optics aimed at the clouds as she watched the remains of the last night's storm passing by. In her mind, she replayed clips from last night's squall.
The wind was so powerful, she could hear the frightening clacks of stones smashing against tree. Rain pelted down, some drips managing to push through the leaves and branches molded together by many moons of work from the warriors of ThunderClan. Lighting flashed just beyond gaps in the branches of the den, and thunder shook the camp. She was surprised it hadn't sleeted. Often in strong storms such as that, the temperature would no longer play a part in what rained down, and the clouds with spit out whatever they had at the waiting forest. Ice and snow would pelt down, even if it was in the 70s, of Fahrenheits, and rain would pour down in the 20s. Sleep had been hard to come by, and she only drifted after the last blast of thunder. Awaking herself in the present, she shook her fur and trotted back into the shadows of the trees.
Might as well hunt, she thought mildly, flicking her tail slowly back and forth, with a kind of reluctant anticipation. She'd rather not hunt, but take a long, leisurely walk through the trees. In weather this nice, the chance only came seldom. But the clan must be fed. When she had gotten up that morning the fresh-kill pile had nearly been depleted, and all that remained was soggy, muddy kill. No cat would eat that. Sighing quietly to herself, she continued on until she reached the forest near SnakeRocks. She wouldn't go to the rocks directly. With the sun out, the adders were bound to be out, trying to sun themselves. They would also be ready to strike any cat or other animal that got near them, and she was in no mood to be bitten by a snake that day. She stopped. Her paws skidded slightly on the moss and grass, rubbing up particles of grass and dirt as she did so.
She could taste the scent clearly now. Could feel the vibration of it's paws pattering the ground. A low growl rose in her throat, claws unsheathed into the ground. It came like a current of flood water, fast and unforgiving, merciless and fierce. Hitting her with an impact maximized by weight, speed, and momentum, she was flung twisting and yowling through the air, only to fall silent as the jarring impact of the ground knocked the breathe from her lungs. It's excited barking filled her ears and she raised her head slowly, gasping for the air that had been knocked from her. Her eyes glazed over white for a heartbeat, only to clear as the dog lunged heart-beats from her face. Move! she screamed at herself, panic gripping her paws. She flew to her feet, still drawing in breathes and launched herself at the oak beside her. Wind rushed past as snapping jaws closed only heartbeats from her tail tip. Flicking it to her side, she dug her claws into back and thrust herself up the tree in rapid thrusts.
The dog barked and scratched at the tree, unable to reach her from where she know crouched among the many jutting branches from the top. Gaining her breath, she shook her ruffled coat, ignoring the soreness in the side she was struck on. Glaring down at the dog she spat in contempt at it's ugly gray muzzle.
"Fox-dung! go back to your two-legs you crow-food eating waste!" she hissed scornfully. As it continued to scratch she spat again. "Stupid brute! are all dogs this stupid? great StarClan, no wonder you ran off the gorge so many seasons ago," she jeered at the filthy creature. Her fur began to lie flat and she tried to calm her rapidly beating heart. Now I just have to wait until it leaves, she thought, twitching her whiskers with disgust as she saw flecks of drool and saliva spraying from it's wide jaws. It's eyes were black and empty as it jumped again and again, never quite managing to fit it's overly large rear onto the tree. "Crow-food eating!" she spat. I'll never get back to camp by the time this stupid brute gets out of here! she thought, thrashing her tail. Thinking quickly, she rose on her toes, arching her skinny back, and whipping her tail back and forth.
Slowly she began to climb from the tree, ignoring it's yelping and barking as it grew more frenzies. Filthy creature, she thought as she neared. Perching on a branch just above it's gaping jaws, she tried not to flinch away as it sprang at her again. Rapidly, she lashed out with unsheathed claws and raked it's muzzle. Satisfaction warmed her as the dog jumped back with a yelp, droplet's of its blood spotting the ground and her claws. She sprang down, arching her back and slashing it's foreleg with another blow before leaping back to avoid it crashing down upon her. Suddenly she found herself on the defensive. Behind her, rocks rose steeply, to smooth to climb. She began to back away, eyes darting to see any chance to run past. Unless something distracted it, she was trapped.
OOC: Do not kill the dog. Cats can't kill a dog, with it's claws or teeth. Seriously, this is literate, so be literate.
