This is something that was really enjoyed in another site I went on. I suppose you can classify it as a contest but it's really just for fun. Here's how it works, pick a cat, any cat. It doesn't have to be one from this site, any charrie you've ever made works. You write a story about a past life. When they were kits, a few days ago, or even a reincarnation. It can be funny, sad, sweet, touching, how ever you want it. Just something extraordinary happening to your cat. It can even be a dream. Just put on your thinking caps and write your hearts out. Then the next person to post a story, has to list a sentence from the previous story that touched them the most or made them want to read on or want the previous writer to make a sequel. I'll even start:
Mask sat patiently listening to the big Highland Lynx Cat in front of him all the while tapping his tail back and forth. "So let me get this straight Taiga, you want to kill all our relatives because they've been eating human food and living in the human houses. After that you want to leave and head somewhere far away?" Taiga nodded feeling uncomfortable under the Abyssinian cat's strict gaze. Mask twitched an ear then mewed, "Alright, I'm in." Taiga's spotted tabby head shot up, "What do you mean your in? You mean-" he couldn't go on. "I mean I'm going to go along with your plans. Stop staring at me with that I-can't-believe-what-I-just-heard look!" Mask hissed. Taiga still couldn't believe his ears, Mask had himself quite a reputation here as a spy and he couldn't understand why his old 'messmate' would just throw all that away. "Come on Taiga, you look like as if you don't want me to come along. We both know you're the one who's always attached to family." the copper furred cat mused. Taiga blinked then hurriedly agreed. "Alroight messmate, lissen up. Our mum and dad and all sorts of family have turned into house cats so they won't be hard to kill. They usually hang out near them human's nests away with the pixies until they're hungry and go to get some vittles. If we're careful we can kill them in their sleep so they won't feel no pain. Then we can leave, the sun's setting quickly so we'd better hurry mate." Taiga mewed quickly before starting to pad off. Mask called him back, "Wait a minute there, you sure you want to kill everyone? Even Caeda?" Taiga froze at that name, Caeda was an older sister who's always been super protective of her little brothers. "Yes mate...even Caeda." Taiga meowed before bolting off with Mask following more slowly.
Quietly the duo trotted to the mass of fences and houses keeping a sharp eye out for the setting sun. After dodging countless dogs and sharp fences they finally picked out the right house. Taiga was sitting nervously under a bush waiting for Mask to finish spying. "They're there alright, all lounging in the sun." a voice mewed behind him making him jump. "Don't do that mate! Your gonna scare moi pelt off one of these days!"
When the sun finally set below the horizon Taiga started his malicious plan. It was ironic that before his mum and dad turned to the soft life of being a house cat it was them who taught him how to kill quickly and painlessly by snapping the spinal column. Reaching over one by one he carefully yet swiftly ended the lives of the cats who were sprawled out on the grass. Mask sat a little ways away watching, remaining unfazed as one by one the cats he's known since he was born was killed. It took a long time to finish and the sun was almost up by the time Taiga got down to the last one. He had made sure to leave Caeda for last. He leaned down and mewed quietly, "I'm sorry, you've committed felony but I'm the one who's sorry." Then with a flash of teeth and a quick click, the job was done. Taiga turned away without looking back once and padded over to where Mask was waiting. The copper and gray furred Abyssinian hadn't moved a whisker all night but stood up easily. "You all right Taiga?" he mewed blandly, Taiga nodded slowly. As if some silent message has passed through them the two started padding through the forest. They didn't exchange a single word for hours until they were at the very edge of the huge woods they've grown up in. "Where are you planning to go?" Mask mewed calmly. "Oi don't know, probably over them mountains. You sure you want to come along messmate?" Taiga meowed. Mask shrugged, "I'm a spy, I might as well learn how to adapt. Besides like I said, you always miss family when their away and I'm the only family you've got left now."
Taiga's Unfortunate Goodbye
