Rushinghawk's eyes widened as he saw Ridgepaw hang on for dear life on the badger. "Hang on Ridgepaw!" He yelled up at the apprentice, eyes not convicing.
He made sure Charredstar was okay before he crept rather sheepishly toward the fighting badger. He paused another feline came into this battle. He realized that the cat was Anguishedpaw! What in Starclan's name was she doing?!
He blinked acouple times to make sure what he saw was reallly happening. Two apprentices taking on a full-grown badger? And Anguishedpaw had never even seen on...he didn't know about Ridgepaw though.
Snapping out of his thoughts, the dark tabby lunged at the badger's front paw and bite into it hard, flailing his head wildly, fear made all his attacks more powerful, so that was a good thing.
The beast yowled in pain and tossed his head back, in doing so making Ridgepaw get tossed in the air. The badger then staggered to the left and threw his back against a tree, in hopes of geting the other cat off him.
Rushinghawk let go of it's paw and watched in fright as Ridgepaw flew in the air. oh dear, I hope Ridgepaw lands on his paws!
Rushinghawk then rushed over to help Anguishedpaw; by slashing at the badger's face once more, making it stop trying to get her off. When will this end! Rushinghawk thougth as he glanced worridly back at Charredstar, wondering if the leader would help now.

The badgers head came up and hit Ridgepaw like a wall of energy and at the same time it moved. For a moment he recalled using every once of strength to hold on and realizing it was useless. There two heads knocked together and his tabby form went flying though the air, claws and fur swirling about as he tumbled. Blue sky flashed just about as often as the ground did and Ridgepaw lost all sense of direction. He couldn’t even tell where the fighting cats were, to much air rushed past his ears. He recalled becoming aware enough to fling his tail around in an attempt to land on his feat.
When he woke though, it was his side he lay on, an not his paws. Confusion hung like a wet pelt smothering his mind. What. He struggled to remember what was going on. To any cat watching though, the apprentice had nearly turned enough to make a proper landing when he crashed down on the sides of his pads and lost balance. A thud vibrated the earth as his side and shoulder toppled down, rolled over his back, and came to rest on the opposite shoulder facing away from the fight. His sides had been momentarily stilled when suddenly he was gasping but appearing to get no air.
This was how Ridgepaw found himself only a short time later, head spinning, ears ringing, and fighting a horrible pain in his lungs. He coughed and struggled to breath. It felt like something was stabbing his lungs! Worse then that was the returning knowledge, the fight was likely still being had. Staggering, Ridgepaw wavered as he pulled himself up and turned back to the fray. His senses were calmer now it felt, his heart certainly wasn’t beating so fast and he found he could breathe again.
Away off Rushinghawk had joined the attack, eyes narrowing Ridgepaw began to piece together the events. If this was your fault Rushinghawk I’m going to claw your fur off! He yowled, seething at the warriors help. He crept forward again hardly feeling strong enough to catch a mouse as the fight neared. Clearly this was a strong badger, blood leaked down it’s sides and one eye was missing while the other Ridgepaw noted had blood leaking into it. My handywork. He mused and watched as Anguishpaw looked ready to be crushed. Hey get off! Ridgepaw called up and spotted the tree.
He moved off over to it and with a heave, crawled up. Amongst the limbs he could see better though he didn’t notice Charredstar anywhere. It took him a moment to break the smaller stems but as it turned out he was now well positioned right above the Badgers head. A good place to leap down and attack. He noted Rushinghawk again. As long as he doesn’t ruin it that is!

"Apprentices, if you need help in a battle then you shouldn't be on the battle field in the first place!" Timeshadow a.k.a Mr.Bad Attitude snarled. He came at the badger like a rocket and jammed to a stop suddenly, the badger's hefty claws slashing a couple mouselengths in front of his face. He was stunned for a second by the pulling wind that followed after. He scourged a hit on it's side and fell back tensing for a possible dodge

Charredstar loosed a primal cry, flinging himself for the badgers head from the right. He raked his claws across its face, slashing at the second eye in the process. The blinded creature roared and flailed. Charredstar tapped into his inner rage, cleansing the pain in his side, and slashing with lightning speed at the badger as he slide under the belly. halfway down the creatures stomach, he flipped and hung on too the furry mass, hacking viscously at the badgers soft belly, tearing at its weak spot. The creature gave a final anguished wail, and charredstar slid out in a nick of time as the creature collapsed, ceasing to breathe. Charredstar sighed heavily, taking quick shallow breaths, and keeled sideways, staggering before shakily regaining a crouch.

Timeshadow stood off to the side with the same dark look pasted on his face. He didn't move to help his leader but kept looking at the badger in a sort of hatred mixed with sympathy. Think about it, getting killed after having both eyes clawed out. In logic cats would run from badgers but since when did WindClan follow logic? He jabbed at the black and white carcess with a single claw. The warmth was just starting to drain out of the body

Amongst the ambering leaves Ridgepaw could only watch as, almost like one Timeshadow suddenly erupted on scene and Charredstar charged and disappeared below the beast. In his little niche his claws caught the bark as he waited. Now there were two warriors, Anguishpaw and Charredstar all battling the wounded creature. Ridgepaw felt that this had to be the end, even with it's size it had been matched by sheer numbers. There! As he predicted it staggered under Anguishedpaw and Charredstar slipped from it's shadow as it collapsed.
For a moment he couldn't stop looking at it. Since his discovery of the hunting party everything was motion and noise. With the creature stilled it felt like they were all holding there breath. To him it looked like the badger was winning this game, its sides didn't move again. Charredstar did though, he'd gotten some distance away before Ridgepaw saw him crouch down again.
Leafs showered down as he tried to get up. Balance was hard with all the adrenalin in his system, not to mention his shoulder felt strange. With much effort and little grace the slender Ridgepaw made it back to land. A few claws were torn from the ackward climb down but it was a safe landing at least. Only now he noticed the feeling amongst the muscle of his shoulder. It fell swollen and stiff to move, pain was setting in to.
Shaking his wishers Ridgepaw tried to pick out the scattered party. He didn't see Anguishedpaw any where though the two warriors were in view, Charredstar was off over to his right. Stretching out he tried to move and hissed. Extending his right leg sent a pain like claws down his spine. Gingerly he sat and twisted to see it. What had once been lean towards the side of skinniness was bloated and fat, very sensitive to. He didn't notice the blood covering his paw below, the rabbit bite had gotten worse.
Instead of focusing on his wounds, which made them hurt more, he looked up for the slate gray from of his leader. A frown came over his face. Something was again wrong but the tom couldn’t guess what. No way would he just let us sit here . . . normally. Is he hurt? Ridgepaw couldn’t guess, at his side he could literally feel the pounding of his blood, the thudding sound was quite distracting.

All that happened next seemed like a blur to Rushinghawk.
Next thing he knew, he was staring down at a dead badger. He stepped back and let out a shaky breath.
"That was...." He began meekily, fur still brisled out and eyes wide. "weird..." The tom finished, face twisting in a deep frown.
The warrior looked to Timeshadow and then to Charredstar. He saw that Ridgepaw was badly hurt. Where was Anguishedpaw? Was she okay? He blnked, but remained where he was, still taking in what just happened. They all had taken down that badger!
Suddenly feeling sick,Rushinghawk, moved as far away from the badger as he could. [pitiful post, sorry!]

Timeshadow scowled at Rushinghawk, "Whats the matter? You scared of a dead carcass? How cowardly can you get?" he snarled . Rushinghawk, a cat that he couldn't understand. But somewhere deep inside he held a grudging respect for the WC warrior. It was impressive to not try to be someone you aren't.....To be honest he couldn't imitate that

Charredstar winced, his rage fading, only to be replaced by a sharp pain in his side. Every breath sent pain like a fiery claw slicing down his side. He knew he wasn't going to die, but he hurt. He stood shakily, and started padding back toward the camp with a slight limp, managing to hold his head high. "lets go. Back to camp" He growled. suppressing a yowl as the pain increased with speech. "Good job, all of you." He added more soflty; the clan, his clan, had fought bravely. He kept trudging toward camp slowly.

Timeshadow turned away taking the route he came from back to camp breaking off from his leader's patrol. He had no intention of being close to his clan. He had a professional relationship with his clanmates and he'd rather keep it that way. With that he disappeared into the undergrowth

Rushinghawk looked blankly at Timeshadow. He didn't have any comback, what was the point anyway? He knew he wasn't as....well, brave as the others, and he knew Timeshadow was one of those toms who were always grumpy and mean.
Shrugging off the thought, Rushinghawk looked back towards Charredstar, smiling alittle now. He had done good work! He glanced at Ridgepaw and wondered if the little tom needed any help.
He hesitated before going over to the apprentice, "You okay?" He asked, eyes showing concern for the tom. He didn't like to see any cat in pain, and he seemed to be the lucky one in this battle. He hoped Anguishedpaw was okay, she seemed to have disappeared.

Blurry eyed, Ridgepaw watched Charredstar get up and turn away from everyone. Distantly he deciphered the leaders words and every cats movements. Not an easy thin to do in pain, but he guessed Timeshadow had been quick to move off to and Anguishedpaw was still missing. His head drooped and shoulders sagged where he still sat. It had been one crazy fight. The clan has no food to eat either. He remembered, thinking of the reason they’d all been out here anyway. The most aggressive of threats was gone but it left him at least hurt an hungry.
On his good side Ridgepaw heard the movement of Rushinghawk brushing forward. Even after the fight, bringing down a badger, Ridgepaw couldn’t bring himself to let down his guard. His face rose wearily to glance sidelong at the warrior. If he remembered right if was actually his fault for this severally bruised shoulder he’d been left with. But somehow he couldn’t remember, or couldn’t find any will to really care one way or another. Don’t worry about it. He muttered and looked away, half closed eyes staring sightlessly at the ground. My first real fight and I almost shied away.
With a haunting stiffness Ridgepaw got up, his face looked very swept of emotion but his eyes teared with pain. Taking an almost silent short gasp Ridgepaw managed a few limping steps. Only now he felt as blood cracked on his fur the earlier bite mark. His whole leg was pretty messed up. He could only hope it was temporary and tried to get a few more steps in. Moving wasn’t any fun, not long ago it had been a easy thoughtless action but now it took his will just to not stop. Angling toward the far off rabbit, Ridgepaw tried to distract himself with different thoughts. Probably won’t get a mentor anytime soon at least.

Rushinghawk frowned abit as Ridgepaw limped off. He sighed and his tail twitched. can't I do anything right? He wondered meekly, turning toward the motionless badger. He had to find out where his clanmate went.
"Anguishedpaw? Are you, like, there?" He meowed aloud, trying to see where the mysterious appretnice went off to. He sure hoped she wasn't hurt... Is this whole badger thing my fault? He wondered suddenly, eyes scanning around the badger for the coat of the she-cat. If she was hurt, or worse dead! It would be all his fault! Already two of his clanmates, one being his actual leader got hurt because of him! What next?!

OCC: AHH I got behind! Sorry everyone personal issues!
When Anguishedpaw felt the badger begin to fall she tried to leap off and found that her claws were kind of stuck into the badger's pelt. She tugged at them and tugged at them but they WOULD NOT move. Finally with a good hard wrench and a loud rip she pulled her claws out of the badger's pelt and tried to leap gracefully off. As luck would have it she stumbled on her too small feet and fell on the ground.
"Nice, real nice," she grumbled, but of course, even when she grumbled she sounded beautiful. THen she heard Rushinghawk and turned toward the tom that she had always considered one of the nicer Windclanners.
"Hey Rushinghawk, I'm right here don't tie your tail in a knot!" she called out and watched her leader and her other clanmates attentively before she turned her attention back to Rushinghawk. She wondered if Ridgepaw's comment had bothered him at all. He looked a bit well...anguished. But of course, sometimes people just looked like that to her.
She was so out of it she didn't realize they were heading back to camp until she saw her leader and clanmates begin to move.
"Um, hey Rushinghawk, I don't actually have a mentor yet so maybe we could hunt on the way back for a little. I don't really think that I want to be here alone again. I mean, that big huge thing, badger right? I've never seen one but it almost crushed me!" she said in her windchime voice, wincing with every syllable.

Rushinghawk felt relief seep through him as he saw that Anguishedpaw was alright.
He smiled his usual smile and padded over to stand by her. His ears twitched as she asked if they could go hunting.
His eyes brightened. How could he say no? "That's fine by me." He replied, grinning cheekily. "Yeah, that's badger." He replied flicking his tail at the motionless body. He shuddered slightly as he saw it's ugly striped face. "Don't worry, atleast you arn't hurt!" He meowed quickly, looking back to the pretty apprentice in front of him.
Turning to go in the opposite directon the rest of the Windclan cats went, Rushinghawk looked back at the apprentice. "You said you didn't have a mentor?" He asked casually, still smiling. He usually alway smiled, he was just that type of cat.
