Hunting time (charred, Ridge, Rush, and anyone)

"That was...different," she said not sure how to catergorize her emotions. She turned toward the funny tom and smiled happily. Finally, she could go hunting with Rushinghawk. Rumor had it that he was always hungry. Besides, in one motherly piece of advice her mother had told her that the best way to a tom's heart was through his stomach.

What an odd thought! She didn't particularly know Rushinghawk well and here she was going hunting with him alone. Of course his feelings couldn't toward her more than as a mentor after all. Still everytime he looked at her she felt a blush crawl up her body. Underneath her fur no doubt her face was bright pink.

"Okay, let's go," she said enthusicastically. What was this, enthusiasm? Interesting...

Rushinghawk's tail twitched and he decided not to bother with the question. It would be miracle if Charredstar gave HIM an apprentice!

Dismissing the thoughts of this, Rushinghawk's green eyes brightened more and he meowed goofily, "Off we go!" The same enthusism was in the tom's voice as the she-cats. He turned and started padding into the small forest located in their Windclan territory.
Glancing back to see if she was coming or not, the tabby smiled to himself, glad to have someone to accompany him. And it seemed that the young apprentice actually thought of him as a friend and not just a co-worker!

She followed eagerly. Her legs were long and she caught up with him easily before she fell again. Her breath flew out with an ooof and she gasped wanting air.

"Hang on," she gasped out as she staggered to her feet carefully. Then she caught up with him again.

"Sorry," she said hoping she hadn't worried him too much. Suddenly she stiffened. She caught a scent of a mouse and slowly she turned.

"I think I smell something."

Rushinghawk paused as he saw the young apprentice fall. He wondered how that had happened.
"You okay?-" He started to ask but then stopped when she said something else.

He blinked and scented the air, indeed smelling a mouse. He smiled and crouched low, tail twitching from the scene of it all. It was always fun to hunt! Especailly with someone else. He was glad Angushedpaw was with him, she was really nice, and she seemed to actually want to hang out with him..

"You want to get it? Or shall I?" He asked in a whisper glancing over at the she-cat with glowing green eyes of amusment.

A perfect oppurtunity had presented itself. Slowly she dropped into her hunting position. Her ability to hunt had long since been dormant but she was sure that she was capable of catching a little mouse.

Her steps were placed perfectly and then she felt a stone wedge itself into her tiny pads. Sure the thing was just a little one but to her it felt as huge as a boulder.

She leapt forward her pounce landing perfectly. Her jaws snapped the tiny little backbone percisely and she felt it crunch underneath her teeth. She picked up the limp, still warm body.

"Here, your still hungry right?" she asked the much larger tom expectantly. She pushed it toward him and lifted her nose to the air searching for something for herself.

Rushinghawk blinked as the apprentice offered the prey to him. He could catch his own, and plus, it was against the warrior code to feed himself before the clan....
Anguishedpaw knew that right? His ears twitched and he decided to play it cool. "Thanks, but i'll get my own." He meowed to her. His tail swished and he added, "This could be for the clan; let's see if we can catch some more." He nodded his head as he picked up the mouse lightly in his jaws, ignoring his hunger grave as his mouth watered. If only the code didn't exsist...
But then that would be bad, everyone in the forest would be fighting and killing one another...Its good that ther's a code for the clans.

He went over and put the limp carcus on the dustry ground and made sure it was covered to come pick up later.
It was odd, he seemed to act less goofy when he was around this apprentice..
Probably my mentor-like traits showing. He guessed as he smiled slightly to himself, padding over to stand a distance away from Anguishedpaw. He scented the air and instantly caught another whiff of mouse, one very close by. He glanced to see if Anguishedpaw had caught something else yet, or had scented something.

She blinked. Her eyes opened wide as she stared at him. She could hear his stomach rumbling, why wouldn't he eat.

"Ummm, ooookkkaaayyy," she said drawing out the word. She lifted her ears to look for something else. Was that a rabbit? She couldn't run very fast but maybe she could catch that rabbit.

The rabbit's ears were pricked and the thing looked at her. She stalked foward her ears pricked and her mouth opened. She leapt and landed on the ground. Her paw twist in a strange manner as she landed on a rock.

"OWWWWW!" she exclaimed releasing an anguished cry. She looked down at her small paw. She whimpered as she looked at it and then she staggered to her feet.

Even the slight amount of weight that was her made her hiss in anguish. It felt like a thousand knives were digging into her bone. She needed to get the weight off of it.

"Can you help me?" she asked looking at him beseechingly as she tried to stand once again. She failed, of course, and remained on the ground.

Rushinghawk winced as he saw Anguishedpaw leap and fall, hearing her cry as she landed.
ow, she must have hurt something! He thought as he soon saw she had twisted her paw.

He blinked and padded over to her hurridly as she attempted to get up but fall again.
"Rabbits might not be on your highest catching list."he meowed gently, wondering how he could help Anguishedpaw.

He noticed how small she was to him, and he could probably carry her by the scruff back to camp...
"Mind if I carry you?" He asked instantly, ears perking up as he stared at her patintly.

She tried to move her paw again and winced at the sharp jolt of pain. Then she laughed when he mentioned the rabbits. The laughing almost made her forget the pain...almost.

"Let me just try again," she wouldn't have minded being carried back. She had been before but honestly she wanted to prove to the others that she wasn't some sissy she-cat. She pulled herself to her feet but her tiny feet couldn't support the weight and she fell on it. That was when she decided to just stop trying.

"I don't mind," she said, in her mind she realized just how small she must be compared to Rushinghawk. She was pretty sure that Rushinghawk wasn't even that big. She laughed out loud as she realized how ridiculous she must have looked compared to others.

"Sorry just thinking about how small I am," she said before he had a chance to look confused. Then she rolled on to her stomach and tried not to think about how odd she would look clamped in Rushinghawk's jaws.

Rushinghawk chuckled lightly and replied, "Don't feel too bad. To me, everyone's small..I'm just too tall!" He let out a purr of amusment.

He hesitated before picking up Anguishedpaw, being careful not to hurt her. She sure was small! He lifted her up, not clamping down too hard on small Anguishedpaw. He couldn't quite talk, so he went off toward camp with a flick of his tail.
